Giving Period

Once a nonprofit has received notification of funding during a given cycle, the nonprofit will have up 12 months before requesting the funds. This coincides with the fact that the foundation has up to one year from the given cycle to meet the required 5% of annual giving. For instance, if a nonprofit received approval in March 1, 2006, then the nonprofit has up to March 1, 2007 to request the entire grant amount. In most cases, the foundation will provide the nonprofit the full funding amount up front unless otherwise noted. If the foundation realizes that the cause has been discontinued or not receiving focus by the nonprofit, then the foundation has the right to revoke the funding, and redistribute the funds to other causes that are creating an impact in the communities that the foundation serves.
